Tarrant County's Credit Union - Scholarship Programs

Graduating High School Seniors & Returning College Students Scholarship

Tarrant County's Credit Union offers academically-motivated student members who demonstrate a desire to continue their education, whether at an accredited two-year or four-year college or a vocational/technical school, the opportunity to apply for scholarship awards.

Since the inception of the program in 2003, TCCU has awarded 34 scholarships to graduating high school seniors and returning undergraduate students.

Scholarships are awarded for the academic year (beginning in the fall semester), based on student’s membership in the credit union and an essay submission. Scholarships are not based on the student’s grades or extra-curricular activities.

The number of scholarships awarded is based on the number of applications received.

Awards are paid directly to the student’s school of choice, for discretionary use to assist with educational expenses.

Kick$tart Scholarship Program - for ages 0 to 17

The Kick$tart Scholarship Fund, launched in June 2014, was created to increase youth awareness and participation in financial education and goal planning. A drawing will be held annually in January to award one $500 scholarship to one TCCU youth account holder age 0 to 17 years. Kick$tart Scholarship funds are held in escrow for the winning student until payment is made directly to the school of choice upon high school graduation.  Funds held in escrow for a winning student have a one-year expiration date following student’s graduation from high school.
